Glowerin' at the Glowin'

Originally Posed on October 29, 2005 Okay, it's 2:22am and I'm out of bed to complain about … something. I'm trying to fall asleep, and my upstairs neighbor just got home from his second job. He's new in the building. A few weeks back, when I met Jim, he told me about his two jobs and how I should let him know if he makes too much noise when he comes in late. And, oh yeah, by the way, just for your information, he tells me, he sleeps during the day. Now here's the unvarnished truth. . . .

Anger

I had a doll named Anger
I wound tight as I fain,
Its spring retreats its fury spent,
To be rewound again.
One day some priceless china
That dervish squall did meet.
I cleaned it all and hid the doll,
Confined in dark retreat.
